Despite the dramatic title of this post, I'm here to tell you that the "dorm life" isn't all that bad. Well, it's not completely bad. Compared to other colleges, and this is based on what I've heard from my friends, my dorm is a paradise. While it may be lacking when it comes to size, it's quite comfortable and nice to live in.
I could go without the lumpy, twin sized, four feet off the ground bed though. Getting into my bed has never been such a difficult task until now. That might be because I'm only a mere five feet tall, but still. Enough about my short stature, back to the topic at hand.
Living in a dorm was somewhat hard to get used to: sharing a bathroom with someone you just met, waking up at different hours for fire drills, having to be conscious of how much noise you make at a certain time of night, people living above you that obviously aren't considerate of the fact that people live below them. If you can't tell, the last part of that list is what absolutely drives me insane. That and the fire drills. Yes, people here pop bags of popcorn at six and the morning and burn Easy Mac. That's right, I said it, Easy Mac. How does that even happen? The world may never know. Obviously they lack basic cooking skills... I digress though.
All in all living in a dorm isn't the most amazing thing ever, but it's not all that bad. I guess it's just another part of the college experience. Ya know?
